'Minecraft' Adds A Character Creator Option

Minecraft players have more control over the appearance of their avatars. The latest beta build comes with the option to create a character that will allow you to modify the body shape and hairstyle, skin tone and color of eyes, facial hair and. You can choose from more than 100 items and other items created by the Minecraft team are available for purchase.

The beta is only available on Xbox One, Windows 10 and Android at the moment. After the beta is over it will be available in Minecraft Earth and Bedrock versions along with iOS and Nintendo Switch. You can still make custom skins on Windows 10 or mobile.

The option for customization is a great addition, and it follows the tradition of many games (such as many RPGs) that allow players to make their characters look as they would like. Many other titles like Fortnite offers custom items for characters to purchase. While Minecraft has had a marketplace for community-created textures and skins for a few years It's fascinating to see the team behind the development selling their own virtual goods.
